Bootstrap: The Future of Algebra Education LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Teach your students to code and reinforce their Algebra skills using this FREE Common Core aligned curriculum that runs on a Chromebook! Students write, compile, and troubleshoot their code with WeScheme, a cloud based programming environment. Your students will program their own video game using code and Algebra(order of operations, linear equations, piecewise functions, compound inequalities, and distance formula). Bootstrap is aligned to the following Common Core standards:

MPs #1-8, N-Q, 6.NS.5-8, 7.EE.1-4, 8.F.1-3. A.SSE.1-4, A.CED.1-4, A.REI.1-4, A.REI.10-12, 8.G.6-8, F.IF.1-9, F.BF.1-4, F.LE.1-5

Session attendees will leave with a solid understanding of the Bootstrap course and ideas on how to integrate the mathematical/computer programming concepts into their existing Common Core or Computer Science curriculum. Attendees will get hands-on experience using the "Circles of Evaluation" to model Order of Operations and Functional concepts. They'll then use the WeSchem programming environment to use computer programming to test their models.
